Conversion of Island Patriot for a contract for StimWell is now in progress at Orskov Yard in Fredrikshavn, Denmark.
The ship of the month, Island Patriot, is in dock at Orskov Yard A/S in Frederikshavn. In cooperation with three other Maritime Network partners, Orskov has built and is now installing a new accommodation unit onboard Island Patriot. At Orskov, the vessel will also undergo general maintenance. Orskov Yard A/S repairs and converts all kinds of vessels up to 215 x 34 meters. Visit www.orskov.dk for further information.
The vessel
Island Patriot is a platform supply vessel. A platform supply vessel is a vessel specially designed for transport of supplies to and from offshore installations.
Island Patriot is designed with large pipe carrying capacity as well as large capacities of both liquid and dry bulk cargo. The vessel has cargo discharge stations for all types of cargos both amidships and aft with the capability of discharging three products simultaneously. Island Patriot has good maneuverability and station keeping abilities ensuring high operability and safe operations under harsh offshore conditions.
Island Patriot was delivered by the Norwegian based Ulstein Verft to the Island Offshore Group in 2005.

The customers/the trade
Island Patriot carries out supply and cargo transport functions for the oil industry. The vessel satisfies the specific demands of transport of e.g. drill pipes, fuel, drilling fluids, cement or mud and unloading to rigs and production platforms. The purpose of the conversion of Island Patriot is, however, to prepare the vessel for entering in to a long term contract as well stimulation vessel with StimWell Services.
