05-05-2008 Scanel acquires marine electronics company

With the acquisition of Comtek, we have expanded our field of operation and are capable of offering our customers an even stronger team of marine electronics experts.

 

Scanel International A/S has acquired the marine electronics company Comtek. The acquisition became effective the 1st of April 2008.

 

The recently acquired company, Comtek, is specialized in electronics and electrical installations for the maritime industry. Working for and servicing a variety of customers within the maritime sector, Comtek's field of operation and competences include installation and calibration of electrical equipment and components as well as preventive maintenance. With in-depth and detailed knowledge of the market, Comtek also offers consultancy services, advising and guiding clients through the wide selection of equipment for e.g. marine communication, navigation, security, surveillance and steering.

 

Moving to Frederikshavn

Comtek is situated in Strandby just north of Frederikshavn in the northern part of Denmark. For the time being Comtek will continue to provide services to both new and familiar clients from its old address. It is, however, the plan in the near future to move the entire company, its activities and three employees to Scanel International A/S' head office in Frederikshavn.

Our core competences are electrical installations, interior decorative lighting, and repair of electromagnetic engines as well as sprinkler and ventilating systems”, explains Stig Knudsen from Scanel. ”To comply with the ever-changing demands of a fast evolving market, we always strive to expand our competences, accumulate new knowledge and develop our staff.
