Skandi Fjord is an offshore well stimulation vessel providing well stimulation services in open sea environments. The stimulation vessel is equipped for high pressure pumping operations and has storage facilities for e.g. sand and various blends of chemicals.
Skandi Fjord operates from the port of Esbjerg on the south west coast of Denmark and services oil fields in the North Sea.
Skandi Fjord was built in 1983 in Norway by Langsten Slip & Båtbyggeri that is well known for deliveries of complex and special purpose vessels.

The operator
Skandi Fjord is owned and operated by the Norwegian based shipping company DOF. DOF that was founded in 1981, comprises today an international group of companies with offices in e.g. Norway, Canada, Egypt, Brazil, Australia and the U.S and employs a multi-national workforce exceeding 2.200.

The customers/the trade
Oil well stimulation is the general term describing a variety of operations performed on a well to improve its productivity. Skandi Fjord provides well stimulation services to the Danish oil fields and shuttles between the port of Esbjerg and the Danish oil wells in the North Sea. The vessel’s hold is full of sand and chemicals that are pumped into the subsoil to increase the productivity of the well.
